In her instrumental compositions, Alice Hebborn draws inspiration from observing nature. She is a wanderer whose journeys shape soundscapes. By dedicating her music to nature, she continues to seek her intimate connection with the cosmos. Her music is contemplative, focused on the texture of sound and the micro details that compose it, suspended and always maintained by a slight tension. In her writing, she explores a repetition in continuous transformation, mirroring the elements of nature. She strives to give full attention to the tiny details of sound: could the microscopic elements of nature inspire us to find a better balance with our environment?
Her music has been performed by several ensembles such as the LAPS Ensemble, Musiques Nouvelles, Ensemble Fractales, the Polish Cello Quartet, Quatuor Amôn, Sturm Und Klang, and Triotique. Alice Hebborn enjoys connecting her work to visual and performing arts. She regularly collaborates with scenographer Valentin Périlleux. Together, they create poetic sound and visual worlds for the performing arts, inspired by wild landscapes. She co-founded the collective Une Tribu, with which she creates object and puppet theater productions such as "La Course," "Blizzard," "La Brèche," "Novembre," and "Pouvoir." Her first album "Saisons" for piano (Nao Momitani) and electronics is supported by the independent label Western Vinyl. She began composing "Saisons" when she moved to the countryside, influenced by her many walks in the forest and her readings. "Saisons" is the search for an ideal where humans are in harmony with nature, in a horizontal and respectful relationship.
She received recognition for the quality of her scenography and sound universe at the Rencontres de Huy 2021 for the show "Alberta Tonnerre." She won the André Souris Prize from the Forum des Compositeurs in 2019, the Ministry of Culture Prize at the Rencontres de Théâtre Jeune Public de Huy 2018 for the show "Blizzard," the Province of Liège Prize for a Young Company at the Rencontres de Huy 2017, and the Youth Jury Prize at the Festival Emulation 2017 for the show "La Course." She also received the University of Montreal Prize for the piece "Ce qui s’écoule" in 2016.
